About The Farm
The Rising Sun Farm & Garden is part of the Transition to Success Program Life Skills Development Program. The program serves young adults, ages 18-22, with moderate to severe disabilities from the Patterson and Newman Crows Landing School Districts. Located on the Rising Sun campus in Vernalis, CA, the program currently has a small green house operation, herb garden, and lavender field. Plant starts, cut herbs and flowers, and garden-related or recycled crafts are available for sale at the Patterson Farmers Market. Proceeds from sales are used to employ program participants at the Farmers Market and to continue operation of the Farm & Garden project.
